Polka Band for Corporate Events

Appalachian Freunde Polka Band is a German polka trio from Asheville, NC. We bring our Oktoberfest show to office parties, company picnics, client events and team events. Your guests get a break from the workday, a song to sing and a reason to get up and dance.

Where have we played corporate events?

  • Charlotte, NC: a corporate event on Friday, September 13, 2024
  • Knoxville, TN: two corporate events, on Friday, October 18, and Friday, October 25, 2024

See what else we have played in those cities on our Charlotte page and our Knoxville page.

What does the show give your team?

Our sets mix polkas, waltzes, sing-alongs and American songs people know, like Edelweiss, Country Roads and Sweet Caroline. Every show has the Chicken Dance. Ein Prosit, the German toast song, comes around in every set. Cowbells and sing-alongs give the quiet folks in the back an easy way to join in.

The show works for all ages, so it fits a company picnic with families as well as an evening party for staff and clients. Günther von Cluckenstein, our 8-foot inflatable chicken, joins some shows. Meet him on our Chicken Dance page.

Who is in the band?

Three players, every show. Diane Fields plays keys and sings. Mike Fields plays drums and runs our sound. Adam Bennett plays clarinet and sax, sings, and manages the band.

What does your venue need to provide?

We bring our own sound system, and Mike runs it. We add lighting when the event needs it. We need two outlets on one 20-amp circuit. We arrive about 2 hours before the start to load in, and load-out takes about 45 minutes. Three players fit a ballroom corner, a tent or a small stage. For an outdoor event, plan a covered or indoor backup spot in case of rain.

How long does the band play?

Bookings run 3 hours or more. Each hour has at least 45 minutes of music and a 15-minute break. Corporate events book our full show, the same show we play at breweries, festivals and country clubs.

How do you book the band for a corporate event?

We play Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Our peak season runs August to October, so check open dates on our calendar first. Send us your date, your city and the type of event. We send you a quote and a contract. Return the signed contract and the deposit within 7 days, and we confirm the date. Our guide to booking an Oktoberfest band lists the questions to ask any band, and our booking FAQ covers the rest.
